Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is the examination of electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe to be used. It is mandatory that PAT testing reports include an inventory report to show which appliances have been tested.
Here at NSI, we are an award-winning nationwide company that offers national coverage over an extensive number of locations working alongside a vast array of letting and estate agents.
These places include (but are not limited to):
PAT testing is not a legal requirement, however, as a landlord, you have a duty to ensure that the appliances and electrical equipment provided to tenants is not faulty.
A PAT test is highly recommended every year to protect you from liability and ensure the safety of your tenants.
An electrical installation condition report (EICR) is a legal requirement and is an extensive report carried out to ensure the condition of electrical equipment and installations. EICR‘s are mandatory every 5 years for private rentals but many issues can arise in between EICR tests which can only be discovered by a PAT test.
Don’t worry, PAT testing will not damage your equipment, it will only find failures that are already present.
If a minor failure (such as a plug or fuse) is found, we will replace it immediately free of charge! All major failures will be highlighted immediately and the reasons will be documented in the report.
At NSI, we pride ourselves on our 24-hour PAT certificate turnaround! We offer PAT testing for residential properties from just £60, whether you rent a house, flat or just a few bedrooms, we can make sure your rental accommodation is safe.
As a landlord, you want to make sure your property is safe and has the necessary certification. We offer a SAFE Certified package, which combines three amazing services (including PAT Testing) in just one appointment, with savings of over £100 per property, to find out more click here.
